By the end of this module, you will be able to:

- identify indicators of the need for further support for assessment
- use checklists to decide if a learner needs more support from you in assessment
- reflect on the difference between assessment of learning and assessment for learning
- use a range of strategies to include pupils in their own assessments
- consider assessment methods that take into account different learners.

Module 2: Engaging with assessment for learning

This module clarifies the principles of effective questioning, explores the use of effective feedback strategies, and will help you develop your learners’ self- and peer assessment skills.

By the end of the first unit of this module, you’ll be able to:

- choose strategies for integrating assessment into learning for your context
- explain the principles of effective questioning
- use effective feedback strategies
- develop your learners' self- and peer assessment skills.

Module 3: Understanding teaching for tests

This module will help you recognise the effects of testing on teaching and learning, decide on a good balance between testing and learning in your context, and learn to make test tasks more motivational for your learners.

By the end of the first unit of this module, you’ll be able to:

Hello
First, I wanted to express my gratitude for this great course. It helped me learn how to evaluate my students in various ways and combine the positive aspects of formative and summative assessments.
I have finished the course and got my certificate. The problem is I edited my profile after the certificate was issued (I changed the name from SH to my full name), but the certificate is based on the previous name (SH). Can it be changed to include my full name?
Thank you for your help

Hi

Thanks for your positive comments about the course - we are glad you enjoyed it and found it useful!

To request a new certificate, you can log in to your account, go to the courses website (through MY PORTFOLIO- My courses) and then use the orange "help" button on the bottom right hand side of the screen to contact the courses team and ask them to re-issue your certificate.

Hope that helps,

Cath

Hi Samangi

Your certificate should appear in the "My awards - My certificates" tab on the website when you have successfully completed the whole course. If you think there is an error with this, can you report it to the courses team by using the orange "help" button on the bottom right of the page?

Thanks,

Cath

I don't find the section "My learning". I don't get the word "start".

Hi MohamedKhalil8311

Once you have enrolled, you should be able to access your course by clicking on the "My Portfolio - My courses" tab at the top of the page (you need to be logged in to your TeachingEnglish account). If you do not see that tab when you are logged in, you haven't enrolled in any of our courses.

Let us know if you are having problems.
